Diane Dokko Kim

DianeKimAs mother to a child with autism and ADHD, Diane’s passion is to empower struggling parents to experience the timeless relevance of God’s Word in the gritty realities of special needs family life, and to view their journey as a unique opportunity for spiritual transformation and discipleship.

Her two-fold mission includes equipping churches to become fully inclusive faith communities. Since 2008, she has developed special needs ministries at several local churches, led parent support groups, and spoken at churches and conferences as a Special Needs Ministry Consultant. She is honored to partner with the ministries of Joni and Friends as an advisory board member, speaker/trainer, and ministry ambassador.

Diane writes and speaks on faith, family and special needs. Her work has been featured in Orange’s Parent CueParenting.com, Bay Area Parent, and SpecialNeedsParenting.net.

Unbroken Faith: Spiritual Recovery for the Special Needs Parent (Worthy Inspired, 2018) is her debut title with Kirkland Media Management.
Whether by a diagnosis, depression, death —or the death of a dream— everyone gets devastated by something. No one escapes the jagged edges of a broken planet, unscathed. All believers struggle to reconcile faith with disappointment when life hijacks and “disables” our expectations. Sin and brokenness may steal, kill and destroy, indiscriminately. But Jesus is an equal opportunity Redeemer.
Diane lives in the Silicon Valley with her husband, Eddie, and their two sons. Connect with her at http://www.dianedokkokim.com
